Machinists at McElroy Manufacturing usually work 4 10-hour shifts and must be prepared to work overtime to meet customers’ needs. Machinists work at our Admiral Plant, where components are produced in a climate-controlled facility. McElroy also offers an in-house fitness facility for all employees to utilize that offers all of the basic amenities you would find in a normal gym.
Our machinists use micrometers, calipers, and other tools and gauges frequently. They are able to read, interpret, and act on requirements and specifications of blueprints for a variety of parts. Regularly, our machinists will place and secure parts, fixtures, and tools onto machines. Our Machinists must also be able to identify and know the properties of exotic metals.
Skills in communication and teamwork are a must.
